The Jungle Train, which takes visitors to the Devil’s Throat viewpoint, starts at 8 am and its last departure is scheduled for 4 pm.

Tip: Early entry = better wildlife spotting + fewer crowds at Devil’s Throat.

Brazil side opening hours

Iguaçu National Park, which is on the Brazilian side, and its ticket booths open at 9 am.

The last entry is at 4 pm, and the park closes at 5 pm. Park’s shuttle buses operate until it  closes.

This park opens 1 hour later than the Argentina side. Since the Brazil side is more focused on panoramic viewpoints rather than walking circuits, 3 to 4 hours is enough to explore.

Best time to visit Iguazu Falls

Iguazu Falls is a spectacular destination all year. Still, the season you choose can shape your overall experience, from the intensity of the falls to the number of tourists around you.

To avoid the crowds

Visit during March to May or August to early October, which are shoulder seasons with fewer tourists. Arriving early in the morning, around 8 am, helps you enjoy quieter trails and less waiting at viewpoints like Devil’s Throat. Avoid weekends, local holidays, and school vacations in both Argentina and Brazil.

For the most powerful waterfalls

December to February brings peak water flow due to summer rains, making the falls look thunderous. However, it’s also hot, humid, and crowded, so be prepared for intense conditions.

For the best experience

Aim for early mornings or late afternoons, when the light is soft and rainbows often appear. Trails are cooler, animals are more active, and the views—especially from the upper circuit and Brazilian side—are picture-perfect without harsh midday glare.

Tips for a better visit to Iguazu Falls

  • Buy your Iguazu Falls tickets online in advance to avoid long queues, especially during weekends and holidays.
  • If you’re visiting the Argentina side, allow a full day as the trails are longer and take more time to explore.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes and carry a refillable water bottle, as you’ll be covering long trails, especially on the Argentina side.
  • Don’t miss the Jungle Ecological Train, which runs inside Iguazú National Park and takes you to key stops like Devil’s Throat.
  • Avoid entering the park too close to closing time, as last entries are strictly enforced and some trails shut early.
  • Use sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat, especially during warmer months, as the parks can be hot and humid.
