Iguazu Falls has so much to see and do that one needs a map to both plan their visit and navigate around the attractions. 

With a map in hand, you can easily visit the best viewpoints, walking trails, key facilities, nearby attractions, etc, without missing anything or getting lost.

Choose between the Argentina side or Brazil side tours, or experience both in a full-day tour. For an extra thrill, add a Macuco Safari or Gran Aventura boat ride, or take a helicopter tour for breathtaking aerial views.

Where is Iguazu Falls located?

Iguazú Falls is located on the border between Argentina and Brazil. The falls is situated in Iguazú National Park, which is shared by both countries.

The park is located in the northeastern region of Argentina, near the city of Puerto Iguazú, and on the western edge of the state of Paraná in Brazil, near the city of Foz do Iguaçu.

The majority of the falls are on the Argentine side, but the Brazilian side offers a unique panoramic view of the falls.

Trails and routes: Argentina side (Iguazú National Park)

  • Devil’s Throat Circuit (Circuito Garganta del Diablo): Offers the most dramatic and powerful views of the falls, where the water plunges with a thunderous roar and mist.
  • Upper Circuit (Circuito Superior): Provides panoramic views of the falls from above. You can see the entire waterfall system, perfect for wide-angle photos.
  • Lower Circuit (Circuito Inferior): Brings you close to the base of the falls, allowing you to feel the mist of the water up close and offering a more intimate experience of the falls.
  • Green Trail (Sendero Verde): Offers a peaceful walk through the rainforest, providing a quiet escape to enjoy the natural beauty of the jungle and spot wildlife.
  • Macuco Trail (Sendero Macuco): Goes deeper into the jungle, providing a nature-focused experience with views of more waterfalls and dense tropical vegetation. 
  • Jungle Train: An eco-friendly way to reach key areas of the park, including the Devil’s Throat, offering a relaxing ride through the forest while spotting wildlife along the way.
  • Boat Ride: Takes you right up to the falls, giving you a thrilling experience with water splashing all around you.

  • Panoramic Walkway (Trilha das Cataratas): Offers beautiful, wide views of the falls from the Brazilian side, providing a stunning perspective of the entire waterfall system.
  • Helicopter Ride: Gives you an aerial view of the falls, allowing you to see the vastness of the waterfall and its surroundings from above.
  • Boat Ride (Macuco Safari): A boat excursion that gets you close to the water on the Brazilian side. 

Important entrances & transportation

  • Tren Ecológico de la Selva: An ecological train that transports visitors through the park. It provides a practical way to access key points without walking too much.
  • Train Timings: Information on train schedules is provided, including last train times.
  • There are marked access points, such as Portal de Acceso (the park entrance), and connections to the surrounding areas, including Foz do Iguaçu and Puerto Iguazú.

Visitor centers and facilities

  • There are two main visitor centers: the Central Visitor Center (near the park entrance) and the Devil’s Throat viewing area.
  • Facilities: Both centers offer maps, souvenirs, restrooms, food options, and first aid stations, making it convenient to take breaks during your visit.
